Beccles Rotarians were welcomed at the Norwich Airport premises of East Anglian Air Ambulance for the presentation of a cheque for £4000. It represented half of the proceeds of the 2012 Beccles Cycle for Life charity ride. The other half will be used for other charitable purposes by Rotary Club of Beccles Charitable Trust.
Amy Greenwood, a fundraising co-ordinator for the Air Ambulance, received the cheque and showed Rotarians the current aircraft. Peter Bush, the Beccles Cycle for Life organising chairman said afterwards, "I should like to thank yet again all those who contributed to this record sum."
The photo shows Paul Randle, Amy Greenwood, Beccles Rotary president David Richardson, and Peter Bush.
The total profits from donations and sponsorship from the 2012 event were £8000, to be shared equally between the two charities; East Anglian Air Ambulance, and Rotary Club of Beccles Charitable Trust.
Thanks to all those who took part or contributed to this great result!

Rupert Sayer of Beccles has been presented with the free bicycle he chose after winning the 2012 free prize draw of this year's Beccles Cycle for Life charity ride.
The prize bike was donated by Norfolk and Suffolk Financial Services Ltd and supplied at cost by Life Cycles.
David Richardson, the president of the Rotary Club of Beccles, joined Norfolk and Suffolk Financial Services director & chartered financial planner Chad Morris, and Paul Bedford of Life Cycles to make the presentation to the delighted winner.
Life Cycles of Newcombe Road, Lowestoft have supported the event for all of its eleven years and Norfolk and Suffolk Financial Services came on board three years ago. Both companies also enter a team in the ride each year.
The draw for the prize bicycle for sponsored riders was made at the Beccles Hospital fete on June 30 and the winner was teenage rider Rupert Sayer of Beccles.
The photo shows the Beccles Carnival Queen, Jodie Harris, who made the draw, with her princesses and Peter Bush, chairman of the Beccles Rotary organising committee.

Beccles Rotarians welcomed Julie Petrie from the East Anglian Air Ambulance fundraising office to their meeting last week, to receive a donation raised this year through Beccles Cycle for Life.
Julie treated Rotarians to an update on the progress of the air ambulance service, including how effectively the charity had seamlessly changed to a new helicopter supplier in February when their former supplier had problems.
As ever, the Air Ambulance is entirely dependent on donations, so the initial Beccles Cycle for Life cheque for £3,600 was very welcome.
The other half of the proceeds from this year's sponsored ride will be used by the Rotary club for other charitable purposes, through its charitable trust.

The lucky winner of the 2011 Beccles Cycle For Life Prize Draw, Joanne Brown, was recently presented with her prize bike at Life Cycles, by Paul Bedford (of Life Cycles) and Bernard King (President of the Rotary Club of Beccles).
The prize mountain bike she chose was kindly donated by Norfolk and Suffolk Financial Services Ltd and supplied at cost by Life Cycles.
Life Cycles of Newcombe Road, Lowestoft, have supported the event for all of its ten years and Norfolk and Suffolk Financial Services came on board two years ago. Chad Morris, (a director of Norfolk and Suffolk), confirmed that they will be sponsoring the Prize Draw again next year.
All riders who collect £20 or more in sponsorship, and deposit the sponsorship money by the deadline set, are entered into the prize draw which follows each year's event. If you didn't win this year, there's always the 2012 event!
The 2011 Free Prize Draw to win a bike was drawn at the Beccles Hospital Fête on June 25. Sponsored rider Joanne Brown of Lowestoft was declared the lucky winner of the free bike when her number was drawn by Julie Petrie from the Norwich fundraising office of East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Julie thanked the Rotary Club members and everyone who contributed to the fundraising through taking part in the 2011 Beccles Cycle for Life event. The prize is provided by Norfolk and Suffolk Financial Services Ltd and Life Cycles.
